Last updated 12 September 2026. Effective 1 November 2026.
These terms cover your use of The Score Stack — the apps, the website, and the service behind them. They are written to be read, not to be survived. If something here is unclear, email us and we will explain it in plain words.
1. Who these terms are between
“We”, “us” and “The Score Stack” mean The Stack Technologies LLC, 7681 W Ottawa Pl, Littleton, CO 80128, USA. “You” means the person using the service. Where you are acting for a chorus, chapter, school or other organization, “you” also means that organization, and you confirm you are allowed to accept these terms for it.
2. Accounts
You need an account to use most of the service. Keep your sign-in details to yourself and tell us promptly if you think someone else has them. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
You must be at least 13 years old to hold an account. If you are under 18, you may only use the service with the involvement of a parent, guardian, or the adult who runs your ensemble.
3. Groups, and who controls what
Most activity happens inside a group. The person who creates a group is its owner; owners and admins can invite and remove members, upload and delete content, and manage the group’s plan.
If you are a member rather than an admin, your group’s admins can see and manage the content in that group, and can remove your access to it. We are not able to arbitrate disputes inside a group — that is a matter for your ensemble.
4. Your content
You keep ownership of everything you upload. Sheet music, recordings, documents, markings, messages, calendars — all yours. We claim no ownership of it.
You grant us the limited permission we need to actually run the service: to store your content, transmit it to the members of your group, back it up, and display it in the apps. That permission exists only to operate The Score Stack. We do not sell your content, we do not license it to anyone else, and we do not use it to train machine-learning models.
Copyright and licensing — please read this one
Most choral and barbershop sheet music is under copyright. The Score Stack is a place to store and share music with your own ensemble; it is not a licence to copy anything. You are responsible for holding the appropriate rights or licences for every piece of music, recording or document you upload and distribute.
If you believe material on the service infringes your copyright, write to our designated agent with enough detail to identify the work and the material, and we will respond. We may remove infringing material and may end the accounts of repeat infringers.

5. Acceptable use
Do not use the service to break the law, infringe someone’s rights, harass anyone, distribute malware, attempt to breach our security or another group’s data, scrape the service, or resell access to it. We can suspend accounts that do these things.
6. Plans and payment
The Score Stack is priced by the size of a group, and it is the group — usually the director, chapter president or treasurer — that pays. Individual singers are never asked for payment to take part in a group someone else has paid for.
| Plan | Members | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Unison | Up to 8 | $0 |
| Harmony | Up to 40 | $144/year ($12/mo), or $15/mo billed monthly |
| Chorus | Up to 100 | $276/year ($23/mo), or $29/mo billed monthly |
| Anthem | Unlimited | $468/year ($39/mo), or $49/mo billed monthly |
A member is someone who has accepted an invitation. Pending invitations are not counted, so you are never billed for someone who never joined.
Billing, renewal and cancellation
- Payments are handled by Stripe. We do not receive or store your full card number.
- Plans renew automatically at the end of each term until cancelled.
- You can cancel at any time from the billing portal on thescorestack.com — plans are managed on the website, not in the mobile apps. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the term you have already paid for — you keep the plan until then. If you would rather we did it, email support@thescorestack.com and we will.
- Prices are in US dollars and exclude any tax that applies where you are. We do not charge tax today. If we become required to collect it where your group is — because the rules change, or because we grow into an obligation somewhere — it will be added to your invoice as a separate line, shown before you pay, and we will tell you before the first invoice that carries it. Tax is not a price change, but it will change what you pay, so you will hear it from us rather than from an invoice.
- If we change prices, we will tell existing paying groups at least 30 days before the change affects them, and it will only take effect at your next renewal.
If your group outgrows its plan
Recruiting is the point. If your roster passes the limit of your plan mid-term, we will not interrupt your season — you keep working, and the larger plan applies from your next renewal.
Refunds
If you are unhappy within 30 days of a payment, email us and we will refund it. After that we do not generally give refunds for partial terms, but if something has genuinely gone wrong, ask — we would rather sort it out than argue.
Founding groups
Groups created before 30 September 2026 keep full access at no cost until 12 March 2027. We will tell you before that ends, and if your group is over the free tier's size when it does, nothing is deleted — see If a plan lapses below.
New groups
Groups created on or after 30 September 2026 start with a free month — 30 days of full access, whatever the size of the group. We do not ask for a card to start it, and if you do nothing, nothing is charged when it ends — the group simply returns to the free tier's size limit, and everything already uploaded stays readable.
If you choose a plan during the free month you keep the rest of it: the plan starts as a trial, your card is not charged until the month is up, and it then renews normally until cancelled. Choosing on day 3 does not cost you the other 27.
7. If a plan lapses
We do not delete your music because of a bill. If a payment fails or a plan ends, your group becomes read-only: everything you have uploaded stays exactly where it is and stays readable, but new uploads and new members are paused until the plan is active again. Restarting a plan restores everything immediately.
Failed payments get a grace period of at least 21 days, and we will warn the group owner before anything changes.
8. Ending your account
You can stop using the service and delete your account at any time from the app. Deleting an account removes your personal profile; content you uploaded into a group may remain available to that group, because it belongs to the ensemble’s shared library. If you need content removed as well, ask us.
We may suspend or end an account that breaches these terms, or where we are required to by law. Except where the breach is serious, we will contact you first.
9. Availability
We work hard to keep the service running, but we do not promise it will never be unavailable. We may change or discontinue features. If we discontinue the service altogether, we will give you reasonable notice and a way to export your content.
10. Warranties and liability
The service is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost data where you have not kept your own copies of material you cannot afford to lose.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change materially affects you, we will give notice in the app or by email at least 30 days beforehand. Continuing to use the service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The state and federal courts located in Colorado have exclusive jurisdiction, without affecting any consumer rights you have where you live.
